Last night saw the Drapers Awards 2009; a night where the who's who of retail and fashion come together to celebrate the greatest achievements in the industry. A fantastic night was had by all, and we can now tell you that Topman / Topshop New York won an award. The award was -
"Best New Store or Department"
So, have you visited the store yet? Or if you're in the UK have you seen the new floor of Topman in our flagship Oxford Circus branch? Thoughts below...
In a fantastic concept brought to you by SHOWStudio, top photographer Jez Tozer collaborated with Storm model agency to shoot the brand new clothing range designed by none other than Antony Price. Following a model casting in the morning with everyone involved in the shoot choosing their favourite model (which turned out to be the very natural Oxford, by the way) the shoot got underway early afternoon. Unfortunately you'll have to wait until Saturday to be able to see them in full (in The Independent) but lucky for you we were there getting snap happy behind the scenes! Catching up with legendary menswear designer Antony Price at the shoot, we found out that his favourite outfit in the new collection is inspired by his youth, a life in the country. See if you can guess which one it is!
It's a wrap! We can't wait to see the final shots that they chose for The Independent, and we are even more excited to see the new Antony Price collection hit the shelves. All we're saying is check back on Topman.com on Friday. Thoughts on the shoot / collection below!
As we put the final touches on our new latest trend feature (launching Friday 20th November) we thought we'd give you a sneak peek of what's to come. Expect shiny fabrics, a slim silhouette and even the odd sneaky shot of our photographer, Wade Fletcher! Don't forget to check back for the launch this Friday...
You can squint as hard as you'd like, but there's no escaping it - metallics are well and truly here to stay for Autumn Winter 2009. Getting ready for the party season (approaching all too quickly if you ask us!) we've compiled our favourites amongst all the fab metallics we've seen arriving in the past few weeks. On Saturday, Oct 24th TOPMAN hosted one of
the most talked about party’s to celebrate the last night of the CMJ Music
Marathon.
The event supported by SPIN and JELLY took
place at the gorgeous new ROOT Studios in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. With exclusive performances from The Almighty
Defenders and Neon Indian plus the addition of Brooklyn’s own Cale Parks, the
show was definitely a hot ticket. When not salivating for the headliners to
take the stage for their first ever New York performance, guests danced in the
DJ room to sets from X-Wife, Finger on the Pulse, Designer Drugs and NROTB. The
who’s who crowd of industry, buzz bands and the most attractive attendees of
any party we’ve seen all week posed for pics from party photographer Nicky
Digital.Visuals were provided from Yr
Friend Matthew and projected upon the white walls of the photo studio. Guests
also enjoyed a full night of complimentary Magic Hat beer and Svedka cocktails
and nibbles from Kind Snacks.
The night ended with a rousing performance
from the Almighty Defenders all dressed identically in long white robes whose
Cult Gospel converted everyone in attendance.
